Job Description: & Qualifications
Professional position utilizing engineering education and experience to engage in the design and release of vehicle closures secondary mechanisms from pre-program through post launch including ongoing maintenance.
Responsible for all phases of engineering and interfacing with suppliers and other engineers on the design team to coordinate CAD, CAE, and design validation & verification
Applying DMAIC and DFSS principles
Analyzing and using statistical techniques and software
Applying 8D problem solving methodology
Applying DFMEA, DOE and tolerance design tools
Signing off on CAD models and drawings and related GD&T
Leading design reviews based on Failure Mode Avoidance and maintaining DVP&R/PVP&R, developing and proving out load critical and position critical threaded joints
5+ years of experience in Mechanisms design
Proficiency in Engineering Disciplines (DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, Tolerance Analysis, 8-D, Control Plans, Reliability/Robustness Matrices, etc.)
Proficiency with PC software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
Proficiency in Ford engineering computer systems (WERS, AIMS, GPIRS, AVBOM, eFDVS, etc.)
Extensive background in component/system design, and analysis
User ability for CATIA CAD system, ADAMS/LS-DYNA, Kinematic Modeling, FEA, etc
