The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), is seeking a Design and Analysis Engineer (Electronic Sys Design & Analyst), (Level 2) in Ridley Park, PA. As a Cargo and Utility Mission Systems team member you are instrumental to the incorporation of new capabilities and sustainment of the avionics and sensor suites of the Grey Wolf (MH-139) and Chinook (H-47) fleets. We support a multitude of Domestic and International customers with a wide breadth of missions and needs. This position is a full lifecycle engineering position in which you will see the challenges of every aspect of engineering from conceptual design to delivery.

Each Cargo and Utility team member is responsible for ensuring that the User Needs of each capability is understood, documented and aligned with the program's contractual and performance requirements. Additionally, each team member is responsible for ensuring that the design they create aligns to each requirement. Each team member will be responsible for ensuring that the design produced meets the safety, performance and quality.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

  • Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

  • Makes recommendations for technology investments.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. top secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

4 year degree

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Electrical Design, understanding of requirements management, SySML and or MBSE techniques.

  • Strong interest in aviation.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

There are multiple positions available. Our team is focused on designing and supporting a wide range of Boeing products across the globe including Vertical Lift Programs, Commercial Aircraft, Fixed Wing Defense Platforms, Satellites, Space Launch Systems, and many others. Position Responsibilities * Develops gearbox and related component detail and assembly designs. * Analyzes results and performs design reviews. * Leads the team to analyze results and performs design reviews. * Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). * Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of drive system parts and assemblies. * Develops complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgets. * Works under minimal direction. This position allows partial telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. Travel may be required up to 5% of the time.
