Salary Range (Grade F): $81,780 - $116,074

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing maintenance, inspection, and repair operations, including emergency response, for Elevators & Escalators (E&E) equipment installed in stations and buildings in one of four zones that encompass New York City Transit. The primary purpose of the position is to ensure the safe and efficient implementation of the unit's maintenance and repair plans and the prompt response to customer accidents and entrapments during off-tour.
The position will manage off-tour operations within his/her assigned zone, including planning, labor relations, human resources, materials management, and safety. The major objectives of this position are to meet operational requirements for availability, reliability, and safety. The incumbent must be prepared to react/respond to emergencies and other critical occurrences as required, 24 hours 7 days a week.
Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college, five (5) years of full-time related experience, of which two (2) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; Or
A satisfactory combination of education and experience.
Desired Skills:
Thorough knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment, elevator and escalator construction, design and repair, project management, maintenance management techniques, NYCT budget practices, material procurement procedures, other subway divisions, safety rules and labor contracts. The ability to solve complex maintenance problems, and to effectively allocate and manage maintenance resources throughout an assigned area within the Subway system.
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
