Deputy Project Manager
IDS International is building a winning team to provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services in support of the Directorate of Public Works functions at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. These O&M services are critical to the readiness level of local and deploying troops from/through Fort Huachuca, affecting their mission, morale, and safety. IDS is looking for an experienced Deputy Project Manager (DPM) to support this effort. The DPM is responsible for supporting the Project Manager (PM) with daily management, performance, and contractual matters, including human resources, finances, contracts, subcontracts, quality, safety, environmental and compliance.
Additional duties include but are not limited to:
Managing safety and risk assessments of tasks, security and accountability of equipment, and quality assurance/quality control for all related actions.
Adjusting team assets and company resources to meet O&M requirements while remaining within the parameters of contract requirements.
Define, understand and execute project scope, goals and deliverables that support contract goals in collaboration with the client, tenants, and team to ensure successful execution of the contract.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and subcontractors in a timely manner.
Track project milestones and deliverables.
Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project cycle.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the contract.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations as needed.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience at the manager or supervisor level managing O&M services for a Public Works organization or similar multiple locations and multiple skilled trade organization.
Minimum of two (2) years' experience managing a workforce consisting of at least 40 personnel.
Has led complex teams of multiple subcontractors or vendors.
Has a track record of achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
Directly related experience with proven project management concepts, practices, and procedures.
Proven track record of innovation or creative problem-solving.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, business, public administration, or relevant degree program.
Possess relevant professional credentials (e.g. professional engineer, project management professional certification).
Management experience of $5 million or greater annual size DoD O&M services contract.
Experience in managing a workforce consisting of at least 60 personnel.
Active secret security clearance
Associate's degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent)
Working knowledge of applicable Federal and DOD directives and instructions
Possess excellent computer, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
Possess working knowledge of project management/scheduling systems.
Possess working knowledge of O&M work order management and asset/property management systems.
Possess working knowledge of estimating processes and techniques for determining labor, materials, and equipment for design/ build Individual Job Orders.
