Job Brief Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is looking to hire full-time, on-site Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to assist in managing the Research, Science, and Engineering Services (RSES) contract at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). Job Description: Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc., (AMA) manages the Research, Science, and Engineering Services (RSES) contract at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). We are looking to hire a full-time, on-site Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to serve as the primary interface to Government customers for assigned tasks and to provide leadership and management to contractor staff.

The DPM will report directly to the RSES Program Manager with responsibility for managing a portfolio of engineering and research support service activities at NASA LaRC. The DPM will work closely with the DPM primarily responsible for the science support service activities at NASA LaRC. This position is in Hampton, VA.

Responsibilities : Communicate effectively with customers and ensure high contractor performance. Develop strategic resource plans, including staffing forecasting and skills vitalization. Ensure alignment of the RSES capability portfolio with the current and long-term needs of NASA LaRC customers.

Coordinate, review, and finalize task responses and cost estimates using various management tools including electronic contract management tools, MS Excel, SharePoint, etc. Identify technical, schedule, cost, and organizational conflict of interest (OCI) and performance risks and formulate handling strategies. Supervise and mentor technical staff, including performance evaluations and promoting skills development.

Manage subcontractors and consultants on assigned tasks. Foster, grow and maintain positive relationships with existing and new customers along management and technical interfaces. Promote cross-cutting technical innovation discussions and forums.

Support corporate initiatives and process improvement efforts that benefit stakeholders across multiple contracts. Support corporate initiatives, including support to business development activities. Serve as acting Program Manager in PM's absence.

Requirements: Ten (10) plus years of experience leading groups of scientists, engineers, and IT professionals in a research or engineering development environment. Five (5) years of experience planning and leading complex, multidisciplinary programs, including building and maintaining technical collaborations. Five (5) years of experience managing an organization of thirty (30) or more science, engineering, and IT professionals in a contracting environment.

Excellent written and oral presentation skills. Effective management of priorities. Able to communicate effectively with customers.

Must be able to obtain a security clearance. Experience supporting NASA programs strongly desired. Bachelor's degree in science or engineering.

Additional education, training, or certification in management, leadership, or project management preferred. Must be a US Citizen due to security clearance requirements.
