Deputy National Voter Protection And Access Director

Overview:

We are looking for highly motivated, passionate, and talented Deputy National Voter Protection and Access Directors who will support the national voter protection and access program, which aims to ensure that all eligible voters have an opportunity to vote and have that vote counted. The 2024 program will include a focus on election administration and opportunities to enhance voting access prior to Election Day, as well as a robust voter education and protection operation during voting periods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the National Voter Protection and Access Director in developing and leading the national program

• Supervise and support Regional Voter Protection and Access Directors and battleground state voter protection programs

• Collaborate on national program components (training, data, LBJ, hotline, etc.) and provide tailored guidance to state teams on these topics

• Develop metrics and goals, in collaboration with Regional Voter Protection and Access Directors, for state voter protection programs

• Liaise closely with HQ Legal and HQ States team

Ideal Skills & Qualifications:

• A JD is preferred but not required

• Experience hiring and managing staff and building an effective team

• 1+ cycle of experience working in voter protection or related work or 2+ cycles of experience working in statewide organizing or political roles with a thorough understanding of voting laws and procedures

• Ability to understand complex election laws and regulations and advocate for pro-voter reforms

• Experience working with NGP/VAN. Experience working with LBJ preferred but not required

• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

• Experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to work strategically and collaboratively

• Experience juggling multiple priorities in a fast paced environment that requires exceptional organization, creativity, versatility, and problem solving

• A strong commitment and passion for advancing the Democratic agenda and enhancing voter access

Salary: The salary for this position is $140,000, on an annualized basis. This is a full-time position that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024. This is an exempt position.
