Guadalupe County Fire Marshal's Office is accepting applications for a Deputy Fire Marshal. The salary for this position will be $30.90 per hour.

Applicant must be a TCOLE Certified Peace Officer with the State of Texas and prefer applicant to be TCFP Certified Fire/Arson Investigator. The Deputy Fire Marshal position conducts operations within the Fire Investigation Division, the Fire Prevention Division, or Fire Inspection Division.
Deputy Fire Marshal Provides expertise, develops, organizes, directs and/or implements programs regarding fire education, prevention, protection, suppression and investigation in the unincorporated areas of the county. This position conducts criminal investigations and prepares criminal cases for court. Duties include gathering, analyzing, and documenting facts and data necessary for pursuing criminal cases in court.
Essential Duties Include: • Assist with or conducts investigations of fires and/or arsons according to procedures/requirements as set out in Subchapter B of Chapter 352, Local Government Code. • Review construction and site plans for the issuance of Fire Code Permits and Certificates of Compliance, inspect fire suppression systems and fire alarm systems, complete inspections needed at new and existing construction sites as well as existing structures throughout the unincorporated portions of Guadalupe County. • Act as a liaison between Emergency Management, Fire Departments, The Fire Marshal's Office and Sheriff's Office as needed. • Additional duties and responsibilities included on the full job description.
