GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Street Department- Operator, This position is responsible for the labor and equipment operations necessary for the functions of the Street Department. (truck driving, ditch cleaning, mowing, weedeating, equipment repair disaster relief) This position is also responsible for emergency response.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Operate Equipement for construction projects, and maintenance projects. This duty is performed daily, about 60% of the time.
2.Perform manual labor for construction and maintenance projects. This duty is performed daily, about 40% of the time.
3.Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirement; general educational background without high school completion, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Ability to perform these mathematical skills using money and other forms of measurement.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
