Deputy District Clerk II

Job Description Level II

Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Deputy District Clerk II. This position provides assistance to the department by assisting with courtroom support, performing financial duties, and processing new suits and indictments.

Performs clerical and administrative duties by opening and sorting mail, answering the phone, answering questions from the general public, entering information into the system, composing correspondence, scheduling appointments, preparing files, producing reports, constructing packets, and issuing various legal documents. May assist in other areas as needed. Work is performed under the direction of the District Clerk. This position may be assigned to either Civil/Family or Criminal.

Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Must have level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.

Must possess sufficient skill to type at the rate of 35 words per minute. Must have at least one year of experience.

Testing Requirements

This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above.

• If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again.

• If you have never taken our typing test, have not met the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take the test in order for your application to be complete.

Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. You do not need an appointment to test, but you will need to bring a government issued photo ID.
