The position of Deputy Director, Supply Depot Operations, with SOC LLC, A Day and Zimmermann Company, is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, "High-desert, mountain-side", community of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Army Depot, known as "The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world," is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities, located in Northern Nevada and Northern California, including South Lake Tahoe, Reno/Sparks, Carson City, Fernley and Sparks, all of which offer abundant opportunities and access to high quality shopping, recreation, health care, education and entertainment.

HWAD, is also located near the East Gate to Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes, Heavenly and Mt. Rose ski resorts, and a comfortable 4 -5 hour drive North West of Las Vegas , NV. For our outdoor enthusiasts, there are abundant opportunities nearby for hiking, biking, fishing, camping, ATV/UTV and other sports.

Responsibilities

Responsible for direction and oversight of all inventory space allocation and utilization, stock control, accountability, traffic and commercial transportation activities for wholesale supplies consisting of ammunition and ammunition items. Responsible for receipt, store and issue of ammunition stocks, Accountability, Transportation and Traffic Management.

Prepares long range schedules reflecting the staffing over time to ensure that the projected workload is supported and the primary mission of receipt, storage and issue is not compromised. Ensures compliance with Corporate, State and Federal guidelines pertaining to the responsibilities of the position. Has the authority to recommend hiring, firing, promotion and change of status of employees.

  • Works with the Deputy General Manager to establish goals and objectives for the Directorate. Develops and maintains company policies relating to the Supply Depot Operations to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Ensures timely and accurate submission of all CDRL's, billing and proposals for SDO.

  • Responsible for direction of all inventory space allocation and utilization, stock control, accountability, traffic and commercial transportation activities for wholesale supplies consisting of ammunition items at the Hawthorne Army Depot.

  • Provides input into safety, environmental and security requirements for Supply Depot Operations. Ensures compliance with Company and governmental guidelines and regulations pertaining to the responsibilities of this position. Ensures availability of resources assigned and/or allocated to Supply Depot Operations for the execution of the mission, functions and contractual requirements.

  • Provides oversight, mentoring, and leadership within the guidelines of the Defense Industry Initiative, (Ethics) and Diversity programs.

  • Develops strategic plans and mapping related to Supply Depot Operations for SOC and the Hawthorne Army Depot. Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned and may be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty, as needed.

  • Maintains high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations; treat all individuals fairly and with respect. Reports potetnial or known safety or environmental hazards to the appropriate dept. or personnel.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Minimum of High School diploma or Equivalent required. B.S. /B.A. in a technical discipline, Management or related field required. (An equivalent combination of formal college/university education and directly related job experience may be considered.)

LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum of ten (10) years experience in Munitions and Logistics and/or Supply Depot Operations required.

Executive Management level experience highly desirable. Government contracting experience highly desirable.

CERTIFICATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by SOC's Master Training Plan.

LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

OTHER: Must be able to perform work duties, routinely, in a safe and effective manner, remaining alert and aware of potential work/safety hazards at all time, and especially alert while performing safety sensitive duties.

Responsibilities * Prepares, maintains and ensures implementation of the Depot Master Storage Plan for the Hawthorne Army Depot. Coordinate support services for receipt and shipment function at depot. * Prepares and submits for approval billing reports and invoices for all shipping, receiving and storage activities. Monitors for potential deviations from unauthorized storage practices and implements corrective action for deviations from unauthorized storage practices in line with the Master Storage Plan. * Performs and provides oversight on research for stocks in storage and anticipated receipts. Prepares written and oral reports, prepare correspondence and ensures applicable ISO compliance in support of the Ammunition Storage function. * Prepares out-loading and receiving capability plans, necessary reports, and correspondence. * Performs oversight for coordination, scheduling and confirmation of carrier appointments for all incoming materials to HWAD. Assigns proper storage locations for all material in alignment with the Master Storage Plan and U.S. Army strategic readiness. * Upholds company values (Safety, Diversity, Integrity and Success). Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above. Reports potential and known safety and environmental concerns to the appropriate personnel or department. Qualifications * Must possess 5 years direct experience and in-depth knowledge with the handling, shipping and receiving of munitions. * Must possess the knowledge and ability to comprehend and prepare complex documentation in accordance with DoD, State, Federal and ATF regulations. * Must posess strong leadership skills in addition to strong customer service skills. * Must possess excellent computer and applicable software proficiency to be able to perform job duties in a timely and satisfactory manner, be able to research, create and maintain out-loading and receiving capability plans through the contractually and regulatory required means.. * Must possess ability to communicate effectively, in English, using all std.and commonly used forms of business communication. Must possess the ability to exercise discretion and sound, but limited independent judgment. * Minimum of High School diploma required. Education and/or direct experience in relation to munitions, logistics and operations is required. * Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience munitions experience. * Must satisfactorily complete and possess all applicable certifications and training required in accordance with the Master Training Plan. Maintaining current applicable certifications/training is a condition of continued employment. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver's license. Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in additin to a Secret Clearance and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.       * Must be able to perform work duties routinely in a safe and efficient manner.
