SALARY RANGE: $12,052 - $15,378 Monthly

THE POSITION

The Deputy Director of Human Resources plans, organizes, and provides direction and oversight for comprehensive human resources programs of the City, including employee and labor relations, recruitment and selection, job analysis and classification, compensation, benefits administrations, workers' compensation, and development and training functions and activities following the mission, goals, and objective, as articulated by the City Manager and direct supervisor. The Deputy Director is responsible for supporting the City with innovative recruiting of talented individuals and providing professional-level direction to the Human Resources Division in all areas that foster a positive and desirable workplace and supervises and coordinates the work of the Human Resources Division staff in those efforts.

The Deputy Director of Human Resources ensures that assigned program functions meet all applicable laws, regulations, and City personnel policies and administrative rules; provides professional assistance to City leadership and staff in areas of expertise; fosters cooperative working relationships with intergovernmental and regulatory agencies; and performs other duties as assigned. This position requires discretion to work with confidential and sensitive issues regularly.
