JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director this position provides executive-level leadership, management, support, and strategic direction for the post-award sponsored project administration at Clemson University. This position is responsible for operations, compliance, and management of the university post award office and serves as the units lead, while the Director is actively engaged in ERP activities. Leadership and Supervision: In the absence of the Director, assumes responsibility for the operations and functions of the office. Articulate the mission, vision, and strategic directives of the office, as well as represents GCA to both internal and external constituencies of the university, assists with the operational and strategic implementation of Grants Shared Services, systems, processes, change management, and training activities for both inter-office and institution-wide programs. Stays abreast of changes at the federal and sponsor level and implements effective solutions.

Project Administration, Compliance: Responsible for improving and maintaining a proactive university-wide grants management environment that includes establishing effective processes, efficient standard operating procedures developing University procedures and guidance documents. Serves as the point of contact for Sponsored Audit inquiries and assists with review, responses, and corrective actions. Evaluate and manages key processes that strengthen internal controls associated with the administration of grant and contract awards. Provide overall support to the ERP, and Research Enterprise systems to ensure the proper maintenance and effective compliance processes are maintained

Financial Management: Responsible for establishing and maintaining proper controls, documentation, and supervision of the Federal Letters of Credit, Reconciliations, Reporting, Invoicing, Collection and Closeout of sponsored projects by staff. Responsible for problem solving, issue resolution and aid/support complex sponsors and/or projects identified as being increasingly difficult or high profile.

Operations and Training: Works collaboratively and professionally with other areas within the Divisions of Research, Finance Operations and Colleges to provide excellent customer service, strategic support, and guidance on post award grant administration activities. Establishes a strong working relationship with colleges and departments, becoming a trusted advisor on Grant management, internal controls, and compliance activities. Provides oversight to key systems and processes associated with the administration of sponsored awards. Develop and deliver internal/external training on grant management policies, procedures, processes, and compliance activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education
1st Bachelor's Degree
Experience in sponsored post-award administration.

Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Business related field.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Salary Range ($ 131,800 - $ 150,000)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
