Minimum Qualifications Education Level required: bachelor's degree, or associate degree with four to eight years of equivalent work experience.
Relevant experience required: 5+ years relevant experience required. 7+ years relevant experience preferred. Experience in semiconductor industry and / or workforce development preferred.
Skills required: Workforce development program development, implementation, and evaluation; partnership building; stakeholder and community engagement; government relations; public policy; basic data analysis; problem solving and critical thinking; public speaking; excellent written and oral communication; strong computer skills.
Duties Description *Applicants MUST submit a cover letter with resume to be considered.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Lead semiconductor industry workforce development coordination across New York State, a key part of the Governor's Office of Semiconductor Expansion, Management, and Integration (GO-SEMI). Work with key regional and statewide stakeholders on the alignment and development of workforce development programs for the semiconductor industry.
WORK PERFORMED:
Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with governmental and quasi-governmental entities, business groups, community-based organizations, training and education providers, and higher education institutions across New York State.
Plan and facilitate necessary community and stakeholder engagement meetings and events.
Public speaking and presentations at stakeholder events and public meetings.
Develop a public promotional campaign on careers in the semiconductor industry that includes paid media and social media in consultation with appropriate ESD Departments.
Develop a statewide workforce inventory of training and education programs to meet the needs of the semiconductor industry.
Identify existing training and education programs to expand the capacity of, and those that could be scaled.
Present written and oral summaries of GO-SEMI activity to executive management, as requested.
Coordinate with the Office of Strategic Workforce Development on funding and programs when relevant.
