  • Plans, organizes and oversees the activities of the Force Support Squadron. Directs the mission and establishes the goals of the organization consistent with Command and AF strategic plans.

  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities by directing, coordinating, and overseeing work of subordinate supervisors impacting all functional areas withing the Force Support Squadron.

  • Makes periodic, compressive assessment and evaluation of program goals/objectives, which provide basis for long-range planning to enhance the organization's mission support capabilities.

  • Represents the 96th Force Support Squadron, 96th Mission Support Group, and or 96 Test Wing with a variety of installation organizations and outside agencies.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with senior leadership with 96 Test Wing and tenant organizations, as well as representatives from the Department of Defense, sister services, and/or civilian organizations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Miscellaneous Administrations and Program Series 0301 positions located here

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-13 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is described as: Directing the mission and establishing the goals of the organization consistent with Command and AF strategic plans.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of a wide range of Air Force manpower concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices.

  • Knowledge of wide range of Air Force personnel (civilian and military) concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices.

  • Knowledge of a wide range of Air Force Services concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices; and practical knowledge of education, readiness, and budget execution concepts, principles, operations, and practices.

  • Extensive knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, management, and operation of large organizations to provide high level staff guidance and participate in the development of goals, objectives, and policies.

  • Knowledge of financial, budget, resource management practices and principles.

  • Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.

  • Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing data/facts, developing conclusions, identifying trends, developing alternatives/solutions, and making recommendations to resolve problems

  • Demonstrate ability to work with senior management to establish new Force Support fundamental concepts and criteria and stimulate the development of new policies, methodologies, and techniques. Converts strategic goals into programs or policies

  • Possesses an operational understanding of Force Support organizational goals and priorities and fully complies with administrative policies, regulations and procedures when performing job operations. Works with customers and stakeholders to develop a mutual understanding of their requirements. Probes for detail, as appropriate, and pays attention to crucial details of needs or requests. Monitors and influences cost parameters of work, tasks, and projects, ensuring an optimum balance between cost and value.
