What will you do?

  • Acts as Assistant Deputy Director to direct operations, plan, direct & coordinate major division programs.

  • Formulates & implements procedures for Developmental Center (DC) program enhancement, improvement & compliance with state & federal statute & administrative rules, including Medicaid regulation compliance.

  • Provides guidance & planning support to Director, Deputy Directors & various staff in the development & implementation of services to people with disabilities.

  • Ensures implementation of Community Housing initiatives & activities to ensure consistent, effective & efficient coordination of system to support delivery of services.

  • Assists & advises Deputy Director in development of goals & objectives for the developmental centers, Electronic Health Records, Capital, Trauma Informed Care, Data Analytics, and Community Resource Division.

  • Acts on the behalf of Director, Deputy Director and the agency by representing the agency on specific issues related to DC, Medicaid & Community Supports.

  • Provides policy guidance & strategic planning support to the developmental centers based on available research & analytical data to forecast appropriate strategic planning activities.

  • Advises Deputy Director regarding various Medicaid & DC MUIs and IT issues & recommended improvements & trends.

  • Works with the MUI committee to look at patterns and trends of MUIs/UIs and restraints. Develops action plans based on trends and patterns. Notifies leadership team of significant MUIs and ensures immediate plans are put in place.

  • Visits each developmental center to assess current and future operations.

  • Supervises assigned staff (e.g., plans, schedules, assigns work; recommends & disciplines employees; conducts performance reviews & trains employees; interviews job applicants & recommends hiring; authorizes requests for leave, etc.).

  • Manages process for identifying & resolving issues & ensures coordinated communication between & within Division & external parties (e.g. County Boards of DD private providers, advocacy groups, parents, consumer & other agencies).

This position is telework eligible under the agency's current telework agreement.
