This position is exempt from state classified service, and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission. This is an at-will position.

Example of Duties

Deputy Attorney General assigned to the Idaho State Tax Commission. Successful applicant will engage in litigation-related legal work focused on property tax matters, which includes legal issues related to appraisal and assessment at the county and state level as well as equalization matters and review of local government budget and levy laws.

Attorneys assigned to the Tax Commission also engage in a preventative law practice, providing legal advice on matters that arise during the day-to-day business of the agency, assist with the promulgation of rules and the drafting of legislation, and address issues of statutory interpretation. Position is available immediately. It will remain open until filled.

Minimum Qualifications

Prefer 5 years' legal experience. Successful applicant will have active Idaho license in good standing.

This position will have an effective start date of June 17, 2019. Information Technology Services (ITS), currently has an opening for a Deputy Chief Cybersecurity Officer, located in Boise. This is a challenging career opportunity for a highly trained, seasoned, and motivated professional with a background in cybersecurity. The Deputy Chief Cybersecurity Officer position is part of the State's Cybersecurity Team responsible for the research and implementation of security policies and procedures, education, and resolving security related issues impacting all state agencies. This position will have regular interaction with State of Idaho government executive branch and legislative branch leadership to influence Cybersecurity policy and governance for the State of Idaho. This permanent classified position also includes a comprehensive benefit package including: PERSI Retirement Benefits, Medical/Dental Benefits and Life Insurance for both the employee and eligible dependents. Example of Duties * Assist in the design, implementation and management of enterprise cybersecurity systems and applications; * Assist in creation, refinement, implementation, and review of information security policy document, standards and guidelines; * Assist in definition and implementation of security processes; * Facilitate coordination processes for incident management, business continuity, disaster recovery and compliance; * Identify potential malicious activities, investigate and coordinate with applicable state agencies; * Respond to and manage security incidents that occur either on the state's network or on systems directly managed by ITS; * Assist with briefs for large and small groups on enterprise-wide and individual security systems; * Assist with detailed meetings, discussions and recommendations to executives including the Governor, Legislators, agency heads, IT Managers, and other agency staff; * Identify and research potential threats and vulnerabilities and recommend solutions, mitigation and remediation; * Provide after-hours support coverage as needed for supported systems. Minimum Qualifications Good knowledge of cybersecurity incident response and handling methodologies; authentication, authorization, and access control methods; vulnerability information dissemination sources (e.g., alerts, errata, and bulletins); common threats, vulnerabilities, and related mitigation strategies. Experience administering cryptography and cryptographic key management concepts. Supplemental Information The ideal candidate would have the following interpersonal and management skills: * Degree in a technology related field from an accredited college or university -OR- security related professional certification (e.g. CISSP, GSLC, SSCP, Security+); * Three (3) years' full-time work experience with security solution technologies such as firewalls, endpoint protection, identity services, web/email security, data loss prevention, digital rights management, encryption, intrusion prevention systems, log event management and virtualization platforms; * Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities; * Ability to work in a non-partisan manner when working in political environments or when involved in political activities; * Excellent writing and grammar skills; * Experience in public speaking.
