As a Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Audits & Evaluations, you will:
Plan, conduct, supervise, and coordinate audits, evaluations, and Independent Public Accountant (IPA) oversight relating to Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs and operations.
Develop strategic and short-term goals for Office of Audits and Evaluations (OAE) operations in the incumbent's assigned areas that support the Office of Inspector General strategic initiatives and provide appropriate audit and evaluation coverage of VA's program operations.
Develop an annual program of projects for OAE operations in the incumbent's assigned areas in accordance with all applicable rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
Represent the Assistant Inspector General for Audits and Evaluations in meetings and conferences with VA officials, Congressional staff, meetings with representatives of other Federal agencies, and on interagency committees dealing with matters in assigned areas of responsibility.

Current career Senior Executives, QRB-certified graduates of Senior Executive Services (SES) candidate development programs, and individuals with SES reinstatement eligibility are not required to address the executive core qualifications. They are required to address the technical qualifications. All other applicants are required to address both the executive core qualifications and the technical qualifications.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.

Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements and Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) in their resumes; must address each Technical Qualifications (TCPs).separately.
A. Basic Requirement: As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence in their resume of progressively responsible executive level leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gain at or above the GS-14/15 grade level in the federal service or its equivalent in the private sector.
B. Technical Professional Competencies
TPC 1: Demonstrated experience in the management of a comprehensive audit and evaluation program, including developing strategic and annual audit and evaluation plans; formulating and administering audit and evaluation policies and procedures; and managing a diverse and geographically dispersed professional workforce.
TPC 2: Extensive knowledge and experience in planning, conducting, and reporting on performance audits of programs and operations in accordance with Government Auditing Standards.
DO NOT COMBINE THE TPC AND ECQ STATEMENTS. Failure to meet basic qualification requirements and address all Technical Professional Competencies will result in your application being disqualified.
C. The following Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) must be addressed in your résumé UNLESS you are a current member of the Career SES, a former Career SES member with reinstatement eligibility or an OPM/QRB certified candidate. Optionally, you can address each ECQ in a separate document.
You are encouraged to address ECQ separately and demonstrate the underlying competencies in the narrative. You should use action-oriented leadership words to describe your experience and accomplishments and quantify your experience whenever possible to demonstrate your accomplishments (e.g., number of employees supervised; size of budget managed, amount of money saved, etc.)

Should you choose to response to the ECQs using the narrative response, the narrative should not exceed 10 pages, be typed in 12-point font with one-inch margins. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1.Citizenship: The selected applicant must be a United States Citizen or United States National. Proof of citizenship will be required prior to selection.

5.Background Investigation: This position is designated as critical sensitive and requires a background investigation and favorable adjudication for a Top Secret clearance.
6.Financial Disclosure: Senior Executives are required to comply with the Ethics in Government Act, as amended, which requires the submission of a financial disclosure statement, OGE 278, upon assuming an SES position, annually, and upon separation from employment.
