The Department of Cell and Molecular Physiology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level. We seek a colleague whose research program will complement departmental strengths in cardiovascular, aging, molecular and cellular neuroscience, cell mechanics, and cell signaling research.

Careful but not exclusive consideration will be given to applicants who engage in biophysical, aging, and multi-omics approaches. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage collaborative translational research groups within Loyola's Cardiovascular Research Institute and the Center for Healthy Aging and Resistance Mechanisms. Additional information on the departmental and cross-departmental research areas, resources, and facilities are described here:

The SSOM is actively expanding its foundational research departments and we seek innovators to advance studies that span foundational and clinical investigations. Laboratory space will be provided in the recently-constructed Center for Translational Research and Education (www.luc.edu/ctre).

Candidates must have a doctoral degree and postdoctoral experience with strong publication records. The faculty applicant will be expected to sustain an independent, externally-funded research program and contribute to graduate and medical education.

Inquiries and applications should be sent to campsearch24@luc.edu. Applications should include a cover letter (1 page), CV (3 pages), research statement (3 pages, excluding references), DEI statement (1 page), and teaching philosophy (1 page) as a single PDF. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but we encourage early submissions as reviews will occur on a rolling basis starting June 1st.

The Department of Cell and Molecular Physiology values and is committed to fostering a culture of equal opportunity for all persons. We strongly encourage under-represented minorities and women candidates to apply.
