Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1.Assigns daily tasks, shares team performance and customer expectations, and provides technical and or process direction to a group of team members. Assists team leaders in meeting team production results as well as team and division objectives. Supports an environment of efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
2.Typically performs hands-on, functional responsibilities for about 30% of the shift. Fills the role of "backup" to assist with priority jobs.
3.Assists in facilitating team problem solving and team meetings, as required.
4.Ensures that safety, policies, and procedures are followed (i.e. breaks, lunches, overtime, safety glasses, etc.)
5.Teams with planners, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and engineering to implement changes to reduce errors, improve throughput, and ensure customer due dates are met.
6.Helps to ensure team achieves results, meets goals, and follows up promptly on action items and requests, which may include material availability. Tracks the productivity of the team.
7.Reviews discrepancies, takes corrective action, recommends alternative methods, and provides constructive feedback to the team. Follows up to ensure corrective action has been implemented
8.Ensures the team follows procedures and instructions to promote and ensure quality products.
9.Facilitates the distribution of resources/people to ensure that all work centers within the area are appropriately covered. Assists in determining the need for overtime.
10.Facilitates internal and external audits of the area.
11.May be required to fill-in for other group leaders as necessary.
12.May attend various meetings on behalf of the team leader.
13.Assists in determining the skill level of each individual on the team and provides/coordinates development/training to increase team members' job knowledge and abilities.
14.Provides input on reviews, development plans, and goal setting.
15.Assists team leader with follow up to ensure that development goals are achieved.
16.Assists team leader in counseling team members as appropriate/required.
17.Other duties as required to assist the team leader.
Job Function Responsibilities
1.Reads work order, blueprints, sketches, and bend data charts, or works from master tubing templates to determine tubing dimensions, configuration, and finish specifications.
2.Establishes trim lines of most complex parts and relationship of parts to each other, using master tube data, master template, and measuring systems.
3.Sets up and operates variety of manual and power machines to cut, form, swage, flare, and burr tubing according to specifications.
4.Performs single bend operations using the semi automatic or any automatic tube bender.
5.Performs most complex multi bend operations using any CNC tube bender
6.Sets up semi automatic and all automatic tube benders.
7.Sets up most complex multi bend operations on all CNC tube benders
8.Generates complex programs for CNC tube bender.
9.Troubleshoots problems on all benders
10.Attaches fittings, such as nuts, sleeves, collars, and caps, to tubing components, using hand tools and machines.
11.Aligns, fits, and assembles tubing components in jigs and fixtures for subsequent welding.
12.Measures and inspects tubing components for conformance to master tube data, using master template, and/or measuring systems.
13.Tests tubing assemblies for leaks and other defects, using pressure testing equipment.
14.Marks identifying information on tubing, using electro-chemical etching device, label, or other method.
15.Cleans and lubricates tubing and assemblies.
16.Remove minor imperfections by use of mechanical or manual methods according to approved process instructions
17.Assists Manufacturing Engineering in tool design
18.Generates technique sheets
Secondary Responsibilities/Non Essential Functions:
1.Actively participates in lean/continuous initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement. Applies lean concepts and tools in work areas.
2.Observes all company policies and procedures, including safety rules and maintains clean, orderly and foreign object damage (FOD) free work area.
3.Ensures all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule.

Qualifications (relevant experience, education and training):
Because of the nature of the work performed, candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
1.Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and eight or more years of related experience including degreasing using solvents and aqueous degreasing methods, preparing tubing for bending and preparing tubing components for stock or transport.
2.Demonstrates product and process knowledge by applying it to newly learned techniques
3.Candidate must be Level 5 Certified Operator.
4.Demonstrates professional behavior, good business judgment, and strong team interaction skills. Provides motivation and enthusiasm in functional area and reinforces individual and group accomplishments.
5.Encourages and is receptive to suggestions and new ideas. Recommends new techniques, systems, and procedures.
6.Provides clear, concise instruction. Assists in resolving technical questions, as well as team member concerns/issues. Guides team members in the decision making process.
7.Possess extensive historical knowledge of product and process situations that are normally encountered. Able to independently overhaul/repair, test, and assemble 90% of the assigned product line.
8.Able to research problems and develop solutions, incorporating multiple variables, to successfully repair products to serviceable condition without assistance. Works with products never touched before. Able to set up test fixtures independently.
9.Able to adapt to procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs on varied assignments.
10.The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers about work product and processes and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be proficient in reading and understanding written instructions, procedures, blueprints, route sheets and test specifications. Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment. Able to present production information to other team members and management.
11.Performs semi-complex mathematical calculations, as well as demonstrate effective verbal, written, and moderate computer skills.
12.Possess extremely strong mechanical reasoning. Hydraulic and/or electrical background required. Measurement conversion and fluids theory knowledge required for test applications. Leakage, flow, friction, and pressure knowledge required.
13.Able to take a lead role in implementing lean/continuous improvement initiatives. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment on research and solution development. Possess excellent mentoring and training skills.
14.Able to interpret reports and use standard business software applications. Able to use employee self-service system to access on-line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e. PMR, TORS, e-mail).
15.Requires specialized certification specific to division requirements (i.e. FAA repair license, certified operator, soldering certification).
16.Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
17.Must be able to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Typical Mental and Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to move about inside the plant to operate machinery. The team member occasionally remains in a stationary.
The team member is required to operate manual machining equipment, plant machinery and tools to assemble parts and use test equipment. Must be able to detect and identify parts and tools and inspect work for defects and accuracy. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others.
May be required to move parts or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds distances of up to 30 feet. The team member may be exposed to various solvents and lubricants as well as extremes in temperature or humidity.
