What you will be doing:


  • Builds a consulting team and strategy to effectively execute business plan.

  • Develops consulting offerings to address market opportunities.

  • Manages key FIS channel relationships such as sales, relationship management, product management, business unit management and others ensuring continued collaboration to drive results for Practice.

  • Ensures Practice provides industry thought leadership.

  • Responsible for profit and loss of consulting practice including forecasting and managing to revenue and expense targets and communicating business metrics to senior management.

  • Ensures generated revenue meets or exceeds plan for FIS Consulting Services Business.

  • Ensures consulting engagements provide excellent client satisfaction and client loyalty.

  • Manages consulting personnel including engagement staffing, staff performance/evaluations, effective communication, career planning and succession planning.

  • Provides resources with right expertise to meet business needs and manage external relationships creating a flexible staffing alternative for peak demand times.

  • Ensures effective utilization of resources on billable projects, asset development, sales support and thought leadership.

  • Collaborates with other Consulting Practice Managers to ensure right resources are working on right work to optimize goals for the entire division based on priorities and demand generated.

  • Attracts and retains talent to meet business needs for practice.

  • Provides direct sales support throughout entire sales cycle working closely with sales and account management to create and close opportunities including proposal/statement of work development, negotiating pricing, project planning and giving prospect presentations.

  • Maintains quality client relationships to gain referrals for new clients.

  • Nurtures relationships, defines consulting engagements to support relationship needs and sells the initiative.

  • Willing to travel 30% to 50% (or as needed).

  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

Bachelor's degree in business administration or law or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

  • Familiar with software development lifecycle management, application build management, application distribution and deployment management, and other software configuration management best practices.

  • Understanding of FIS processes within CIO to implement change.

  • Understanding of financial software implementation events and planning.

  • Overall project management skills such as negotiation, collaboration, time management, team management, financial reporting and problem solving

We nurture psychological safety within teams and empower them to drive the changes necessary to obtain successful outcomes. We build software and solve problems collaboratively. As a leader for your team, you will have the latitude to enable teams to meet these complex demands as you see fit. Your support will help teams focus on building great technology by becoming better engineers. What is the primary need or problem you will be responsible for? We need someone who can support our engineers and balance their need to support existing consumers of their testing, compliance, and distribution solutions, while also helping them to leverage their knowledge and experience to build a solution that is adapted and evolved for the Kubernetes future. This help will be a balance of mentoring engineers to improve their own skills, connecting them with opportunities within our larger program, and advocating for their work to our Balanced Leadership Team (composed of engineering, product management, and design). Along with your peer engineering managers, you will be responsible for guiding your team(s) towards executing on their OKRs. Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Within the first 30 days, get to know your team and develop a high-level understanding of your team's technical domain, scope, and responsibilities. Begin operating as a part of your team. Within the first 90 days, understand the context of your team and reports: their history, their aspirations, and their motivations.
