In this position, you will be part of a Deployment Pool and will support TDY deployments to various CONUS/OCONUS locations as required. Deployments will begin and end at your chosen home of record. Between deployments, you will be in unpaid time off, but still eligible for benefits.
Under close supervision, this position is responsible for coordinating RPA ground and flight operations including mission planning; execution; briefing and debriefing; crew resource management; and compliance with ground and flight safety directives and procedures. Position reports to the Aircrew Manager.
Maintain ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
Coordinate and actively participate in RPA ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management and safety.
Remotely pilot vehicle to determine compliance with specification and operational suitability during launch and recovery flight operations through specifically prescribed maneuvers.
Define, plan, organize and execute flight plans and schedules.
Review maintenance logs, weather reports and forecasts.
Use Technical Orders and other documents and reports to ascertain factors such as aircraft weight and balance, fuel supply, route, schedule, and mechanical reliability.
Ensures compliance with service guidance, company policy and procedures and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Maintaining a DoD Security Clearance is required.Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Current AF Form 8 (or equivalent) as an MQ-9 pilot
Minimum of 1 year of "recent" experience piloting an MQ-1/9 RPA
Pilot Licensing. Possess one of the following:
Prior USAF pilot training (Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training),
Initial Formal Training Upgrade (IFTU) training in the MQ-1 or MQ-9 via the 18X pipeline, or
The following FAA certificate/rating/endorsements:
Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Airplane Category Rating and Instrument-Airplane Rating, or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with an Airplane Category Rating
Complex Airplane Endorsement
High Performance Airplane Endorsement
Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate
Current DoD Secret or higher Security Clearance
Have a Bachelor's degree, or educational training equivalent to the completion of a four-year technical degree or trade school equivalency-Equivalent professional or military experience in RPA or aviation may be substituted in lieu of education
Able to work both independently and in a team environment; ability to work extended hours in austere conditions
Familiar with AFI 11-202 Vols 1, 2, & 3; AFI 11-2MQ-1/9 Vols 1, 2, & 3; ACC Ready Aircrew Program
Good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately interface with all levels of employees and military and civilian customers, contractors and aircrew
Basic knowledge of computer operations and applications
Must meet all overseas/OCONUS travel criteria, to include Pre-deployment medical screening (if req) as a condition of employment
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English, and must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship upon hire.
Current/Qualified MQ-9 Launch and Recovery Pilot is highly desired
RPA operations & deployment experience
Master's degree in a relevant career field
Certified Flight Instructor and Instrument rating (CFII) is highly desired
Prior experience with RPA Aircrew training or scheduling
Prior experience as a Defense Contractor
