Looking for candidates with knowledge and understanding of state and federal infrastructure permitting processes. Experience working in telecommunications is a plus. Also, needs the ability and willingness to work some flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

This position will serve as the sole Permitting Manager (specialist) for the Michigan High-speed Internet Office.

The responsibilities include research, policy development, program planning, implementation, and assessment related to federal, state, and local permitting relevant to the programs administered by the Michigan High-Speed Internet Office.

This position represents the office and the agency at meetings with internal and external customers. As the manager, provides guidance and support services to the office and other state officials. Also, has sole responsibility to plan, coordinate, manage, and execute the office local, state, and federal permitting strategy to ensure project success. The position is highly specialized, and the incumbent will possess and build a broad and deep knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting processes, applications, contacts, and agencies.

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience

Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
