This position is a first-line professional manager in a complex technical and professional staff work area. This position is responsible for managing activities within the Provider Enrollment Unit, including strategic planning and organizational management, and providing direction to the unit staff responsible for enrolling and maintaining all Medicaid Providers into the Medicaid Program. This position must research medical service providers and understand the complex state and federal regulations. As Federal Regulations become more complicated in enrollments for professionals as well as non-professionals, and for the Managed Care Mega Rule and the 21st Century Cures Act, it has made it necessary for the Provider Enrollment Unit to enroll more types of providers, making this a more complex area to manage. It is essential for any provider with personal contact with a Medicaid beneficiary to be enrolled in Michigan Medicaid for federal screening purposes.
