This position serves as the recognized resource for research, program and policy evaluation, and data analysis related to climate change and clean energy policy in the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Executive Office, Office of Climate and Energy (OCE). This position will lead all data requests related to the MI Healthy Climate Plan implementation and report on program metrics and tracking. Duties include collecting and analyzing data (quantitative and qualitative), conducting research and literature reviews, and providing recommendations related to climate and energy policies.
The role will include collaborating with relevant stakeholders, such as state agencies, local government, tribal nations, and community-based organizations. This position shares expertise, provides leadership, and is a recognized resource to EGLE and other state and local governments, academia, and the general public on aspects of the state greenhouse gas inventory and metrics related to the goals and commitments of the MI Healthy Climate Plan.

The selected candidate may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule (combination of remote and in-person) or a fully remote work schedule (with occasional travel to their official work location). Employees approved for schedules that include remote work must complete that work within Michigan. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.
When working remote, employees must use a designated workspace that is safe and professionally appropriate, allows for privacy, minimizes distractions, and includes secure internet access. Departmental Analyst 10
One year of professional experience.
Departmental Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
Departmental Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
