Position serves as an analyst for the Michigan Center for Shared Solutions (CSS). This position provides Geographic Information System (GIS) expertise in supporting the Geospatial Services offering. The primary function of this position is to provide support in the area of GIS data development, data processing, and analytics, as well as serving in an analytical role for various GIS centric programs and initiatives. This position requires experience and knowledge of GIS technology and the use of sound data management principles.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of ESRI's environment and ArcGIS suite of GIS products
Knowledge of geography, map interpretation, Geographic Information Systems
Thorough knowledge of data editing/data maintenance tools using ESRI ArcGIS suite of software
Ability to design and implement quality control within project workflows
Ability to maintain favorable public relations
Ability to work independently, providing technical support to Michigan's GIS community
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Required Education and Experience
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Departmental Analyst 9
No specific type or amount is required.
Departmental Analyst 10
One year of professional experience.
Departmental Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
Departmental Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
