Requisition Number: 28851 Job Title: PROGRAMMER/ANALYST II Working Title: Department Technology Analyst Salary: $24.81 - $48.70 hourly Job Type: Career Department Name: 0827-CENTER FOR DIGITAL HUMANITIES Department Website URL: https://cdh.ucla.edu/ Job Summary Statement: Under the coordinated supervision of the Computing Support Manager of the Center for Digital Humanities and the Manager of the Humanities Administrative Group, the Department Technical Analyst (DTA) provides day-to-day instructional and user computer support for faculty, staff and graduate students of the following departments: Comparative Literature, Musicology, Near Eastern Languages & Cultures, Slavic, Center for the Study of Religion, Writing Programs, EPIC, Pourdavoud Center, and LGBTQ. Responsibilities include maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting departmental computer systems hardware and software; providing basic user training; planning and accommodating for changes in technology and evolving user needs and requirements; coordinating and working together with other CDH technical staff to resolve complex technical problems involving the Humanities network; maintaining email systems, mailing lists, and the departmental websites; providing A/V support for departmental events; other duties as assigned. Demonstrated detailed knowledge of the Microsoft suite of desktop operating systems including Windows 7, 8, 10, and Macintosh OS X. Demonstrated detailed knowledge of PC and Mac hardware and peripherals to perform diagnostics and repair.

Required

Demonstrated detailed knowledge of a wide range of commonly used software products to troubleshoot issues and give training in their use.

Required

Demonstrated detailed knowledge of network communication protocols and LAN technology to perform network diagnostics and repair client-side problems.

Required

Experience with support ticket systems, e.g., Freshdesk, Zendesk, Service Now.

Demonstrated knowledge of Audio/Visual equipment setup and usage including monitors, projectors, cameras, video recording devices, microphones, and their integration with web meeting tools.

Skill in troubleshooting and problem solving, including the ability to formulate hypotheses in a logical way, test them and establish their validity.

Skill in evaluating and comparing off the shelf solutions in order to make recommendations regarding purchasing.

Skill in creating basic web pages and articles through content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Joomla) as needed.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in standard English, both written and verbally, to share information with co-workers and users and to explain policies and procedures in a clear and concise manner.

Ability to make oral presentations on technical matters and train users at a variety of levels.

Ability to process Pcard transactions and perform other procurement responsibilities.
