Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by greeting and answering their questions

  • Tour your department to ensure it meets our customers' expectations

  • Work hand-in-hand with sales associates to get the job done

  • Prepare and plan for upcoming events that will impact your department

  • Ability to communicate, take direction at all levels, and turn it into action

  • Use basic math skills to maintain accurate inventory levels


Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience or experience in a retail environment preferred

The supervisor is responsible in the areas of packaging standard packaged parts and orders for customers requesting specialty packaging. Also, the position oversees from the time a part enters the shipping department with the receiving clerks through the stocking, pulling and shipping processes. The Warehouse Supervisor also pays close attention to quality issues, cleanliness, and organization, and provides support to the Site Manager. Job Requirements Responsibilities/Daily Tasks * Lead a team of personnel in execution of daily tasks, work schedules, work flow, training, and maintenance and in continuous improvement. * Maintain positive relations and adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices to maintain a safe working environment, in all warehouses. * Respond to problems by contacting maintenance, customer care, depending on the problem at hand. * Monitor the daily work load and adjust personnel accordingly. * Work with upper management to implement the departments policies and goals. * Supervise and motivate a team of personnel, including reviewing the performance and manage the adherence to work instructions and procedures to ensure complete compliance to the Quality Management System process. * Track competencies of employees and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives. * Keep a daily tab on the KPI's. * Investigate and complete customer initiated corrective action forms and internal corrective action forms, and document noting employee responsible keeping record of quantity of errors per person. * Keep employee informed at the least on a monthly basis about types of errors made and opportunities for improvement. * Complete handled vs errors list including errors found by the shipping QE and turn in to the Site Manager on a monthly basis. * Fill out required forms for terminated employees as well as new hires. * Keep all work instructions updated with any, even minor changes in the way things are done. * Have a constant awareness that there is always room for improvement, and be thinking of ways to make things run more smoothly and efficiently. Shipping * Troubleshoots and makes sure orders are packaged and shipped within the time frame allotted for a certain type of order. * Keep close watch on all shipping supplies, and when low place an order for those items. * Design and make labels for eligible customers requiring specialty labeling. * Make labels for other departments as needed. * Contact customers for shipping instructions if an order states to do so. * Schedule truck lines for pick-ups for LTL shipments. * Negotiate rates among common carriers on a continual basis to keep current and competitive with other carriers. * Answer calls and emails from customer care regarding orders, for changes to order, or making the order a priority. * Add to or update comments on orders in regards to shipping. * Review incoming freight invoices and invoice customers for freight when needed. * Review UPS and FEDEX invoice for errors and call when needed to correct. Packaging * Keep close watch on all packaging supplies and place orders as needed. * Make labels for customers requiring labeling on packaged bags of parts. * Make labels for other departments as needed. Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED equivalent. * Minimum of 1 year experience as a Shipper. * Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Shipping Group Leader * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, and is frequently required to hear and speak. * Must have good communication skills and be able to speak in a professional manner when speaking with customers. * Must have good listening skills when talking to employees and customers. * Must be able to navigate quickly in any operating system that is used. * Must be able to multi task in a fast moving environment.
