Mary#s Hospital places a priority on delivering a positive healthcare experience Job Summary Performs secretarial duties including transcription; types correspondence, reports, memoranda, special projects, technical papers and related material for departmental staff as requested. Organizes major meetings, submits time and attendance records, and maintains vacation schedules. # Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of record keeping, filing techniques and effective telephone skills is required. Minimum score of 60% on Microsoft Word and Excel skills testing.

Typing speed of minimum 45 WPM is required.# High school diploma or equivalent.# # Preferred Qualifications Associates degree in related field preferred. Microsoft Access and Power Point is preferred. #Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.


Knowledge of medical terminology preferred


.# Two (2) years clerical experience preferred.# # Primary Duties and Responsibilities Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

Communicates clearly with all customers and co-workers utilizing excellent customer service skills (including face to face and telephone and providing accurate and timely information to customers on department activities. Maintains department specific statistics and databases. Types, photocopies, and files various documents including letters, memos, meeting minutes, mailing lists, and forms.

Takes minutes, prepares agendas and schedules all staff meetings. Coordinates meetings and course schedules including room bookings, invitations via Lotus Notes, catering, reminder notices, and handout preparation. Supports the department director by making decisions with authorized scope or directing decisions to the department director or designee.# Provides support and coordination for special projects as needed.

Maintains calendar for Department director and department specific functions. Processes invoices for submission to accounts payable. Performs other related duties as assigned.
