Job Summary:

As the Department Manager, you drive profitable sales growth by planning and executing company merchandising direction to drive sales and deliver standard operating procedure execution in your department (i.e. markdowns, signage, replenishment, and marketing). As the subject matter expert for all brand merchandising training, product standard operating procedures, tools and resources, you are also responsible for holding others accountable for meeting merchandising standards and productivity expectations. Your department consistently represents brand standards and company strategies. You are responsible for flexing to drive profitability based on our brand's merchandising principles and financial analysis. You are responsible for knowing and executing all company product knowledge and strategies. You play a critical leadership role within your store, leading both direct and indirect reports to positively impact the team, operations and profitability of the store. You own the development of those that report to you.

As an Old Navy leader, your first priority is to contribute to the success of your store. This means that you not only deliver in your role as the Department Manager, but you also model leadership behaviors and deliver as a manager on duty. As the Manager on Duty, you deliver results during your assigned time, drive key performance indicators and brand loyalty by leading through your team. You make decisions and collaborate with other members of your store leadership team to prioritize work based on business needs and company direction.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • College degree or equivalent work experience preferred

  • 2-3 years of soft lines and visual merchandising experience preferred

  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees

  • Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stock room, work with and around cleaning chemicals, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (including travel) to meet the needs of the business, including evenings, overnight and weekend shifts

VIEW JOBS 11/15/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-13T00:00 Overview With the support of the Corporate Office and the Regional Managers, Brand Managers leverage the Stanton Optical and My Eyelab brands and "Sales Process" to grow sales, increase profitability and maintain high quality and customer service standards at their location. The Brand Manager will create a selling environment focused on customer service and achieving business results. Brand Managers are responsible for driving the overall controllable contributions of their location. Brand Managers are selling leaders and are required to meet/beat personal and store sales goals. The Brand Manager is expected to meet/beat productivity numbers while maintaining a high level of customer service. Brand Managers are also responsible for identifying, training and developing the future leaders of Stanton Optical, My Eyelab and all related entities. The purpose of the position is to provide excellent customer service and assistance to patients/customers. Colleagues in this classification perform sales and customer service work. They are responsible for greeting patients, assisting patients with purchase of eyewear, providing patients with promotional information, and answering customer inquiries. The BM performs related work as directed and will be required to meet the productivity numbers outlined. The BM will create an outstanding customer experience for the patient while using proper dispensing techniques. Dispensing process will include determination of the power ranges and specific lens measurements by frame; measure, fit, and adapt lenses and frames for client according to written optical prescription or specification. The Brand Manager oversees eyewear quality from the in-store and/or Corporate Lab. Quality Control responsibilities include: identification and resolution of recurring errors and the development of systems and solutions to eliminate errors. Brand Managers lead by example on the sales floor and prevent walkouts/missed opportunities with the sales staff. By identifying and resolving any customer dissatisfaction as well as providing technical and sales training to the staff, the Brand Manager is charged with strengthening the Stanton Optical and My Eyelab brands, by ensuring "Everyone Buys, Everyone Leaves Happy". Over 50% of the Brand Manager's time is spent managing the operations of the store, training and coaching associates, in addition to directing the work of the Sales, Doctor's Office and Lab Staff. Qualifications Skills/Qualifications: * Ability to interact successfully with both internal and external customers at all levels. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc. * Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs in a team environment. Minimum Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent required; supplemented by six (6) months experience optical sales or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. * To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, Google Docs, etc. * Must display superior verbal and written skills. * Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with a diverse group.
