In a store as big as ours, we need all hands (and paws, wings and fins!) on deck to ensure we are operating efficiently. So, as a PetSmart Department Manager, you'll help lead the team in the following areas:

  • Customer Engagement: With extensive knowledge of our products and a passion for animals, our Customer Engagement Leaders ensure that our customers have the right solutions for their pet. In addition to supporting store initiatives, you'll also lead a team of Pet Care Associates to maintain a safe and clean environment for all pets in our care.

  • Merchandising & Inventory: As a Merchandising & Inventory Leader, you'll play an integral role in helping our pet parents find exactly what they need, right when they need it. You'll lead the execution plan-o-grams, organize promotional and sale price changes, and oversee fulfillment of our In-Store Pick Up Orders.

  • Associate Leadership: As an Associate Lead, you'll connect with our pet parents and become their trusted partner to ensure they have an outstanding shopping experience. You'll lead and train associates, complete pet safety inspections and support the Store Manager on company initiatives.

  • Pets Hotel*: It's not easy being away from pet parents, so our Pets Hotel Assistant Leader make sure to take excellent care of dogs and cats who board with us. From playing in day care to tucking them in at night, our leaders make sure to create an environment that feels like home.

VIEW JOBS 6/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-09-17T00:00 Position Objective: Coordinates daily operations and supervises the distributive functions of the pharmacy including formulary management, medication ordering and distribution, sterile products manufacturing, unit dose preparation, medication storage, unit inspections, drug delivery systems and workload data retrieval and reporting. Identifies operation problems (i.e. staffing; scheduling; workflow) and takes corrective action. Patient Population Served: The Pharmacy Manager is expected to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based in the physical ability, intellectual development, psychosocial, educational and safety needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient. The Pharmacy Manager will ensure that each staff pharmacist has reviewed the Pharmacy Department age specific competency manual as well as attended appropriate workshops or complete continuing education with regards to the hospital patient type. Essential Position Functions: Works with the Director to provide human resource management of staff including scheduling, communicating, hiring, evaluating, developing; and corrective action. Collaborates with the Director to assist the implementation of strategic plans; fiscal responsibility; and federal/state regulations. Serves as a role model by strong leadership through high impact communication and accountability. Provides feedback and support to staff to assist with performance improvement. Working knowledge of automated dispensing machines (Pyxis). Working knowledge of hospital wide computer system (Meditech). Checks medications dispensed and unit dose packaged by pharmacy technicians. Interprets physician orders and enters those orders into computer system. Prepares compounded dosage forms as required. Working knowledge of pharmacy purchasing procedures including the use of all ordering/receiving devices. Working knowledge of narcotic control procedures including computer applications, anesthesia returns, ambulance controlled substance boxes and related PYXIS controls. Works with the Director of Pharmacy or his/her designee to complete any distribution project assignment, or to attend any committee function related to distribution activities. Performs the duties of Staff Pharmacist as needed. Clinical Functions: Performs order entry to review orders for drug duplication, drug interactions, and drug allergies. Makes determination about contacting physician if clinically significant. Provides drug information services to medical and nursing staff. Conducts Drug Use Evaluation (DUE) studies as designated. Provides clinical consultations in nutritional support and pharmacokinetics. Documents clinical interventions and outcomes. Able to review patient profiles for renal dysfunction issues and relative risks of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and then able to offer appropriate therapy as a result of this review. Vancomycin dosing and management Aware of therapeutic interchanges and policies related to patient's own medication use. Resolves promptly any therapeutic drug issues as needed. Interacts with physicians and nurses to promote the concept and awareness of pharmaceutical care as a proactive drug expert. Takes ownership of clinical assignments to assist Director in providing pharmaceutical care to our patients. Works with the Director of Pharmacy or his/her designee to complete any clinical project assignment, or to attend any committee function related to clinical activities. Quality Assurance: Monitors personal accuracy in all professional functions to strive for 100% accuracy by critical thinking and self-improvement. Monitor variances of pharmacy technician performance and counsels promptly. Assures DUE studies are current and complete. Inventory Control: Resolves promptly drug supply issues raised by pharmacists/technicians. Maintains daily surveillance of drug inventory to ensure fiscally prudent purchasing habits. Communications: Develops and maintains effective communication link between pharmacy and other departments including the medical staff. Maintains teamwork spirit and harmonious work environment in pharmacy. Represent and supports pharmacy and hospital management concerns to the staff. Non-Essential Position Functions: Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy or as judgment or necessity dictates. Position Qualifications: The Pharmacy Manager must be a graduate of an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education approved College of Pharmacy. Must be professionally competent and appropriately licensed by the State of New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy. Five years of hospital pharmacy experience.
