Responsibilities:

Managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit. But some managers also lead Departments and have additional administrative responsibilities. Some of the responsibilities of a Department Manager may include but are not limited to:

  • Planning for each shift by conducting walk throughs, pre-shift checklists, and creating a positioning plan for shift

  • Take action to ensure the team is meeting McDonald's standards, monitoring safety, security, and profitability, and communicating with the next shift manager to help them prepare for their shift.

  • Monitoring performance during the shift to meet daily targets

  • Manage crew and shift managers to delegate tasks to ensure quality food production, excellent customer service, and daily maintenance and cleanliness is met

  • Manage all cash handling procedures during assigned shift; maintain integrity of all safe, register drawers, and deposit transactions to ensure adherence to McDonald's cash handling policies

  • Communicate effectively with crew and other managers regarding shift, department, and store needs

  • Fully understanding Food Safety and taking corrective action for any issues

  • Ensure that your assigned department is meeting daily, weekly, and monthly targets pertaining to training, hiring, inventory, food costs, promotions, customer service, etc

  • Delegate tasks to your team of managers in your department to ensure that those targets are being met and follow up on the progress and completion of those tasks

Requirements:

  • Previous management/supervisor experience is preferred

  • Must be punctual, reliable, and flexible to work all shifts

  • Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner while working with customers, other managers, and crew

  • Be comfortable managing a fast-paced, busy environment with the ability to multi-task, delegate, and prioritize duties

  • Be comfortable learning and using various store systems pertaining to training, hiring, inventory, food costs, promotions, customer service, etc

  • Must have ServSafe certification or the ability to become certified within 90 days of employment

  • You must be 18 years or older to be a manager in a McDonald's restaurant
