Supervises assigned operations for multiple or more complex departments providing ambulatory patient care services; ensuring that staff provide high quality, accessible, cost effective care and patient-focused services to members across the continuum which comply with local, state, and federal requirements; implementing and maintaining clinical practice standards, budgets, and staff development; delivering nursing/patient care services that add value, are integrated with business plans and meet or exceed cost, quality, clinical and utilization standards/performance measures.

Essential Responsibilities:

Supervises daily operations and ensures staff provide the highest quality of care and are in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, NCQA, and federal, state and local requirements.Implements and maintains patient care and quality service standards to meet members' and internal clients' expectations.Acts as patient advocate resolving patient care issues.Recommends and evaluates processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.Assists in developing and monitoring budgets and resource allocations.Monitors financial performance and identifies and recommends strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service.Determines the appropriate staff mix for department and develops processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff.Assists in providing on going staff development.Implements and monitors departmental policies and procedures which support the organization's goals and business objectives and ensures they are met.Collaborates with physicians, department chief and nursing manager in developing the appropriate level of patient services and the day-to-day operations of the department.Assists in managing and resolving human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety, and risk management issues.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum two (2) years of experience in ambulatory care or other relevant healthcare experience required OR Minimum two (2) years in leadership capacity.

Education

Bachelor's degree in health care, public or business administration, or related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field. High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

Additional Requirements:

Demonstrated interpersonal skills; knowledge of ambulatory care practices/operations/issues. Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.

Ability to demonstrate proficiency with electronic health record as indicated within six months of hire. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience, including that of a single department in ambulatory care patient services

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, and other local, state, federal regulations.

  • Preferred license in the state of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or other health care area related license.

Qualifications * A high school diploma or equivalent is required. * Associate's degree or higher in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning preferred. * Specialized training in foodservice management and nutrition is desirable. * Current ServSafe certification is required in accordance with State/County law, or must become ServSafe certified within 30 calendar days of hire. * Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Food Service Manager designation where required in accordance with CMS and/or State/County law, or must become certified within a maximum of 9 months from enrollment. * Two years' experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision is desired. * Two years or more related dining/nutrition experience is desired. * Skilled in motivating and supervising foodservice personnel. * General knowledge and understanding of nutrition. * Ability to read and understand nutrient analysis reports. * Knowledge of foodservice program requirements. * An understanding of foodservice program finances. * Basic computer skills. * Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting. * Written and oral communication skills. * Considerable knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures. * Skill in using public relations techniques to promote the foodservice program to client and residents. * Ability to interact positively with residents, client and other personnel and the public. * Good communication, interpersonal skills organizational skills. * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. * Ability to work effectively with a team. * Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
