The Department of Translational Genomics is seeking a Budget/Business Analyst to become part of our team as we continue to grow as a department and develop near and long term strategies for the development of the Institute of Translational Genomics. The successful candidate will have experience in an academia business setting with knowledge in various key functional areas with an emphasis on providing our faculty and students with excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities for the position will be to assist the Department Administrator with sponsored research grant submissions as well as the day to day management of post-award research accounts and other non-research related accounts such as PI startup and gifts. Will research account problems, process expense transfers, prepare and submit payroll authorizations, act as preparer for eCert, as well as process and coordinate purchases, reimbursements, and assist with administrative activities of the department. In addition, the Budget/Business Analyst may assist with administrative activities of department such as coordinating meetings, lectures and seminars.
Knowledge of University financial system, (Kuali, eMarket, Cognos, TARA).
Knowledge of University financial/budget policies and procedures.
Working knowledge for Cayuse, NIH Commons, NSF Fastlane, SF-424 required.
Knowledge of Recharge Facility operation in an academic research environment preferred.
Knowledge of grant management preferred.
Knowledge of Annual University Budget process preferred.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 1 year
Minimum Field of Expertise: Business administration, accounting or related degree and budget experience including knowledge of government and fund accounting. Strong computer skills with use of automated spreadsheets.
