Job Summary
The College of Arts & Sciences is seeking a Department Manager to support the Department of Political Science. This individual will assist in the management of day-to-day operations, and provide vital support to the students, faculty, and leadership in the Department, namely the Chair, Director of Graduate Studies, and Director of Undergraduate Studies.
Under the guidance of the Administrative Staff Officer III and Department Chair, this individual will assist with tasks critical to the success of the Department per College and University deadlines and expectations, which may include but are not limited to:
The Associate Department Manager will be expected to collaborate effectively and frequently with centralized College units, including the Dean's Office, Business Center, Space and Facilities, CaTS, Enrollment Management, Philanthropy, and Advising, along with units across campus and external to the University. The Associate Department Manager will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and inviting workplaces and departments for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This individual will serve as an advocate for the departments and faculty, and an active member of a team of Department Manager colleagues and College staff.
Successful candidates must possess a broad understanding of an academic setting, be able to effectively communicate among various personalities and situations, and be a team player with a strong ability to multitask and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
