Responsibilities

Part-Time, 3 days a week from 8-5p (T, W, Th)

Location: 904 Las Lomas NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102

Our Dentist is responsible for dental operations at our Adult Day Health Center, providing high quality dental services to our enrolled PACE participants supporting a collaborative work environment with our dental and auxiliary staff. Clinical

  • 80%
  • Performs initial and recall dental diagnosis and develops the dental treatment plan in conjunction with the medical team, participant and family.

  • Present patients their dental treatment plan and /or treatment options and communicates options clearly.

  • Effectively communicate with dental staff and medical team to give the best possible treatment to the participant.

  • Provides high quality dental care to the participants in a professional and caring manner, in accordance with standard of care established by dental profession.

  • Engages participants, family members, and the community in informative discussions about oral health.

  • Maintain detailed patient chart documentation, encompassing medical history, existing conditions, and prior dental procedures. Ensure progress notes are thorough, clear, and comprehensive. Document informed consent and patient vital signs as necessary.

  • Performs all functions and provides care in following all rules and regulations of the state's dental practice act, OSHA, HIPPA and all state and federal agencies in accordance with the law.

  • Ensure that all applicable policies and procedures are known and adhered to.

  • Ensure safe working environment by following OSHA and Dental Practice Act guidelines.

Practice Support

  • 10%
  • Communicate schedule changes to Director Dental Services in a timely manner to ensure continuous patient care

  • Work scheduled hours and provide appropriate schedule coverage when necessary

  • Adhere to patient scheduling process

  • Monitor and control practice expenses within budgeted amounts

  • Support marketing strategies to encourage our enrolled participants to support dental health.

Supervision

  • 10%
  • Inspires and guides employees through leading by example, motivation, and clear direction within the organization.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable state and federal employment laws.

  • Helps set the tone of the department to ensure morale, teamwork, and that the positive employment culture of the organization is maintained.

  • Regularly attends leadership/management, department, and staff 1:1 as a forum for communication, to ensure coordination and collaboration in meeting organization and individual goals.

REQUIRED

  • D.D.S or D.M.D Degree from U.S. accredited dental school

  • Current dental license for state in which practicing

  • Current CPR certification

  • Current DEA license and adequate malpractice coverage

  • 3+ years practice experience or GPR/ AEGD equivalent

  • 1+ year working with the frail or elderly
