Provide comprehensive dental care to pediatric and adult patients. Provide supervision to Dental Assistant(s) and Dental Hygienist(s) as assigned.
Ensure the delivery of caring, quality and culturally competent dental services to children and adults. Improve patient well-being through accurate and timely diagnosis, high quality dental treatment, and oral health prevention and education.
Meet or exceed all standards of care, including overall clinical, quality, and productivity goals.
Provide leadership and direction to other dental clinic staff.
Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate confidentiality with patient charting and related recordkeeping and administrative functions as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform clinical and radiographic evaluations to diagnose and treat diseases of the oral cavity
Document and follow treatment plans that include appropriate preventive and restorative therapy
Provide routine and emergency dental services, including exams, restorations, removable prosthetics, minor oral surgery, uncomplicated endodontics and simple fixed prosthodontics
Teach and train patients and staff on oral health promotion and disease prevention
Administer and prescribe anesthetics and medications as necessary
Refer patients for specialty care as appropriate
Conduct follow-up patient care
Supervise Dental Assistant(s) and Dental Hygienist(s) as assigned
Report any concerns about competency and proficiency in the performance of any function or delegable procedure immediately
Exercise professional judgment to ensure dental care is consistent with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards, including clinic policies and quality initiatives
Demonstrate high degree of knowledge and competency in the practice of dentistry and associated patient charting
Utilize computers for data entry and information retrieval with proficiency
Communicate effectively, clearly, concisely with others, both verbally and in writing
Assist in reviewing clinic productivity, scheduling procedures, and establishing guidelines for care and treatment
Actively participate in regular peer review
Utilize and monitor effectiveness and efficiency of all equipment and supplies used in the delivery of services
Participate in occasional after-hours call
Currentand valid license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Massachusettsrequired. Experience/Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations andstandards associated with the delivery of care in a community health centerenvironment required. At least one year of general dentistry experiencepreferred. Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred. Spanish,Portuguese, Khmer, Swahili language skills a plus.
