Job Summary

Oversees dental records and patient information areas to assure quality patient check-in, scheduling and checkout for specialty, dental clinic site. Coordinates patient billing. Provides office support to physicians and residents by coordinating patient visits, schedules, procedures, and obtaining necessary information to support the facilitation of a positive patient-provider interaction. Consults with patients on treatment plans, insurance, co pays, deductibles, down payments, and payment plans that meet the patient's needs. Reconciles patient payments to their treatment plans. Troubleshoots related clinic issues. Assists with financial management of areas specifically delegated by the Clinic Manager. Develops and nurtures a collaborative working environment for all staff.

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • 2 year post secondary or RDA/LDA

  • Dental Office experience either clinical or administrative.

  • Understanding of dental terminology, procedures, scheduling for multiple providers.

  • Understanding of dental billing practices, insurance processing, and patient collections.

  • Broad understanding of medical/dental electronic records, and referrals.

  • Keyboarding experience of 35 wpm.

  • Ability to communicate across cultures as well as adapt explanations to our patients.

  • Ability to demonstrate skills as a team player.

  • Dependability and commitment to the dental team, flexibility within daily job duties.

Preferred:

  • Dental experience

  • Pediatric experience

  • Interest in working on various projects

Job Description Our Licensed Dental Assistants provide chair-side and removed assistance to dental staff in any services rendered to patients. This includes assisting with chair-side, laboratory and x-ray procedures, as well as assigned duties. They will also perform delegated dental functions under the direction of a licensed dentist in the delivery of care for all assigned patient populations, in accordance with all policy, procedure and practice guidelines. In addition, they support dentists in the delivery of patient care services, preparing examining areas and patients for examination by physician, recording patient's medical history and other relevant data., assisting dentists with patient examinations and minor surgical procedures, and scheduling or performing clinics procedures as dentist directs,. Duties include: * Prepares patient, arranges instruments and set-ups, and prepares dental materials for * treatment/procedure. * Performs patient care activities relevant to the clinic as permitted by the Dental Practices Act. * . Provides Chair-side Assistant to Dental Staff * Communicates effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team * Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served In order to qualify for this role, you must possess: * Graduation from an accredited dental assistant course, including current certification and registration as a dental assistant. * 1+ years of experience a dental office or clinic * Experience using EagleSoft clinic management software. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in a hospital based dental office or clinic for one or more years. * Bilingual with knowledge of primary patient languages. * Advanced technical skills in job role.
