Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Central Dental Laboratory and Implant Management, the Dental Laboratory Administrator manages daily activities in the College of Dentistry's Dental Laboratory, including quality control, ensure adherence to standards and practices to maximize safety and operational effectiveness. The Dental Laboratory Administrator will set and monitor production goals and develop/analyze metrics for leadership to assess laboratory effectiveness; instruct and collaborate with providers (student and faculty) on techniques, protocols, and esthetics; and effectively manage dental laboratory cases.


Required Education:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Required Experience:3+ years experience in laboratory management and/or digital dentistry Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of dental procedures, dental prescription interpretation and an understanding of laboratory equipment. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate, develop, implement and interpret policies and procedures.

Ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner. Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operational performance. Coordinates staffing, material requirements and equipment needs. Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes, procedures and protocols. Implements System/Department policies and government regulations, and monitors compliance. Maintains quality control activities and records. Ensures maintenance and calibration of equipment to assure proper functioning.</p></li><li><p>Assists with preparation of and compliance with the approved operating budget.
