Summary of Position:

ClearChoice dental laboratory technicians work onsite at the dentist office to fill prescriptions from those dentists. They use advanced technical skills to construct sophisticated implant-based dental prosthetics to exacting standards for fit and esthetics and use critical thinking to develop and share complex solutions with the dentist and auxiliary staff. The Tech 3 will work under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager if one is assigned or may be called to be a lead technician in the center. While work methods follow established procedures and practices, candidates are expected to consult with their doctors and team using a high degree of judgment on a patient-by-patient basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and entering work orders and accompanying materials including impressions, models and components.

  • The manufacture and fitting of all aspects of All-On-Four dental prosthetics including accurate manufacture and articulation of implant models, setting of denture teeth, denture processing and all related components and processes.

  • The ability to ensure the accurate and on time manufacture of prosthetics to a patient-driven schedule.

  • Denture and All-On-Four type restoration repairs

  • Maintenance of all laboratory facilities, equipment and instruments

  • Monitoring of all laboratory related supplies and ordering through paper and/or computer-based purchase order systems.

  • Teaching and mentoring other technicians and auxiliary staff

  • Operate computers and standard office type applications such as web browsers, word processing and spreadsheet software applications as well as dental laboratory specific applications.

  • Maintain only the highest degree of professionalism and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of seven years of hands-on technical experience is required. Certification (CDT) or the completion of an accredited dental laboratory program is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Qualified candidates should have experience and be proficient in full arch hybrid restorations, complete dentures, overdentures and implant based restorative techniques and have strong knowledge of dental science and anatomy and esthetics.

  • Working Conditions

ClearChoice operates two-three person dental laboratories within each of its dental offices. As such, technicians perform their duties in both the dental laboratory and dental office environments.

Technicians are expected to be onsite at all times Monday through Friday. Days and hours may vary.

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Operations Technician I for our Biologics group currently located in Woburn, MA but relocating to our Shrewsbury, MA location anticipated in mid to late 2019. In this position, the Laboratory Operations Technician I will be responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks involved in sample receiving and processing, and inventory management of critical components, laboratory supplies, specialty reagents, and client-supplied reagents and controls. Performs a variety of activities related to sample log in, processing, storage, shipping of materials client support, laboratory and facilities order placement, and order tracking, receiving, and processing. Must regularly communicate with Clients to facilitate sample receiving and for completion of required documentation, labelling, and storage, and disposition of samples Work with the laboratory and operational personnel to establish and maintain cost center re-order and inventory management systems. Also assure that critical components are ordered sufficiently far in advance to allow for on-time project initiation and uninterrupted testing. Manage the inventory for routine consumables and specialty reagents. Track and analyze inventory turnover to maximize efficiency of ordering. Utilize and improve systems for managing inventory in lab-based refrigerators and freezers. Ensure that lab-related refuse is discarded according to SOPs and any applicable regulations. Provide coverage for Shipping and Receiving on the loading dock. Establish procedures for assuring the orderly management and control of inventory items such as critical components, and client materials. Perform data entry into SamplePro (or alternative) as well and the inventory control system. Daily proficient use of SciQuest order placement system and SAP resource management system. Maintain exact and detailed documentation appropriate to the function, including training records. Contact vendors to resolve any incorrect or damaged items that are received or return the shipment. Arrange inventory in a neat and orderly fashion, which is conducive to proper safeguarding and record keeping. Keep receiving area clear at all times. Comply with inventory requisition systems, forms, and documentation. The following are minimum requirements related to the Laboratory Operations Technician I position. * Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in scientific discipline preferred * Minimum 1 to 3 years related experience in a laboratory * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. * Able to work independently under minimal supervision. Knowledge of GMPs/GLPs strongly preferred. * Must regularly move about inside the work area to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. * Regularly required to position self to use laboratory equipment. * Regularly handle tools and controls and must be able to feel objects. * Regularly reach with hands and arms. Frequently bend, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. * The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works with bio-hazardous material, sharp objects and with or near hazardous chemicals. * May have exposure to potential chemical, electrical, biological and waste-handling hazards.
