POSITION INFORMATION:Provides dental hygiene servicessuch as sterilization, radiograph processing, scheduling, emergency response,and charting.


  • Dental Hygiene. Performs dental prophylaxis, topical fluorideapplication, and oral hygiene instruction. Places sealant, administers local anesthesia and nitrous oxideanalgesia.

  • Sterilization. Prepares instruments for sterilization.

    Sanitizes instruments in attempts to controlinfection. Cleans and sanitizes unitsafter patient treatment.

  • Radiograph Processing. Exposes and processes radiographs.

  • Scheduling. Schedules appointments and calls patients toconfirm. Assists office staff withpatient recall system.

  • Emergency Response. Responds to emergencies and assists withfirst aid procedures.

  • Charting. Updates patient charts and performs periodontal charting.

  • As Needed. Performsvarious duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.


Education: Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene

Certifications/ Licenses: Licensed to practice

Dental Hygiene in the State of Oklahoma plus a CPR certification

Equivalent/ Substitution: Will accept an Associate'sDegree in Dental Hygiene and 24 months Dental Hygiene experience in lieu of the

Bachelor's Degree.

About Aspen Dental-branded practices Aspen Dental-branded practices are independently owned and operated by licensed dentists. The practices receive non-clinical business support services from Aspen Dental Management, Inc., a dental support organization. Responsibilities * Evaluates overall oral health, examining oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease or possible cancers, including sores, recessed & bleeding gums, and oral lesions. * Documents dental history or chief complaint; records and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff, as appropriate; documents lab procedures and ensures follow up on results. * Follows through with oral hygiene procedures in accordance with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist. Procedures may include: Prophylaxis, Periodontal Scaling, Root Planing, Debridement, Application of Fluoride Treatments, and Application of Protective Sealants. * Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patients.
