Develops and implements a hygiene and recall program for patients of the Poisson Dental Facility.

  • Education:- Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate?s Degree in Dental Hygiene.Experience- One to two years dental hygienist experience preferred. Familiarity with hospital-based dentistry a plus

Registered Dental Hygienist in the State of New Hampshire.Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities and possess the necessary physical requirements with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the essential functions of the job.1. Ability to deliver patient care in a manner that is appropriate to the demographics and/ or specific needs of the patient population served by the hospital.2. Demonstrates proficiency in assessing, responding and adapting treatment of care to meet the needs of the patient population served by the hospital. 3. Physical requirements include the ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction; pick, pinch, type or otherwise work primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling; raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position to position.4. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 5. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Essential functions include activities in which incumbent must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to patients, physicians, families and other employees.6. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound.7. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively by means of the written word.8. Visual acuity sufficient for work which deals largely with preparing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal operation, extensive reading.9. The practices receive non-clinical business support services from Aspen Dental Management, Inc., a dental support organization. Responsibilities * Evaluates overall oral health, examining oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease or possible cancers, including sores, recessed & bleeding gums, and oral lesions. * Documents dental history or chief complaint; records and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff, as appropriate; documents lab procedures and ensures follow up on results. * Follows through with oral hygiene procedures in accordance with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist. Procedures may include: Prophylaxis, Periodontal Scaling, Root Planing, Debridement, Application of Fluoride Treatments, and Application of Protective Sealants. * Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patients.
