The Dental Hygienist and the Dentist work together to meet the oral health needs of patients. Some responsibilities include: patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure, taking digital radiographs, removing calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth, teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health, counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health, performing documentation and office management activities.

  • To provide valuable health care while establishing trusting relationships with patients.

  • Must be creative in their approach to patient management and oral health education.

  • Good communication skills. To be able to communicate with patients, employees and manager.

  • Being efficient.

  • Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.

  • Finish LEARN assignments on time.

  • CPR must be current.

  • MN State Licensure required.

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Graduated from Accredited Dental Hygiene program.

  • Two years experience preferred, but not required.

  • Able to meet ADA requirements.
