Baystate Dental is hiring a Dental Hygienist for our office in Westfield, 01085. This is a full-time position working Wed, Thur, Fri (8-5) and Sat (8-2).

Previous experience is always a plus, but we also welcome and encourage new hygiene grads to apply as well. Must have an active Dental Hygienist license for the state of MA. New hygiene grads must be applying for license soon. Local Anesthesia certification is preferred, but not required to be considered for the position.

Responsibilities

• Dental Hygienists are committed to improving the oral health of patients through the delivery of periodontal therapies and other hygiene-related services. Candidates must be enthusiastic about their dental work and provide the highest level of care at all times.

• Under limited supervision, the Dental Hygienist provides dental treatment, oral hygiene care, and education in accordance with approved guidelines regulated by the state.

• Patient screening, medical history and dental charting.

• Application of fluoride and protective sealants. Removal of calculus, stain and plaque from above and below the gum line.

• Provides nutritional counseling, and self-care programs to prevent disease.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Active Hygiene license for the state of Massachusetts

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
