Dental Claims Specialist

The Dental Claims Specialist position allows you the flexibility to work at home. We are currently targeting candidates in the Centerville/Cincinnati Ohio areas.

Applies knowledge and skills obtained through an on-the-job training program to receive, prepare and process routine to moderately complex dental insurance claims in accordance with client directed protocols and established performance expectations and service philosophy. Navigates multiple company systems for processing claims information

Responsibilities

• Participates in an on-job training program and ongoing training in order to learn and build knowledge and skills of the Company's products and services, policies, procedures, and systems.

• Processes routine to moderately complex dental insurance claims utilizing multiple systems applications and reference tools pertaining to group benefit levels, situation codes, and the Company's claim payment policies.

• Keys and/or transcribes alphanumeric data from source documents. Verifies information to accurately process ADA codes.

• Sorts incoming claim documentation and maintains files.

• Prepares boxes of documentation for offsite record retention storage.

• Locates/retrieves claims requested by Dentist & Member Services Team or for dental consultant review.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of claims experience preferably in dental insurance or equivalent relevant experience in a dental office, health insurance, or healthcare.

Professional Certification(s):

• Certified Dental Billing Specialist (CDBS) or Certified Dental Coder (CDC) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) a plus.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

• Basic Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

• Solid alphanumeric keying skills.

• Knowledge of dental services, terminology, and corresponding American Dental Association codes.

• Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment (multi-function copier/printer/scanner, etc.).
