Duties and Responsibilities

Assist dentist in providing dental treatment, care and education to patients. Must possess knowledge and skill of clinical procedures, processes and dental administrative functions.

  • Welcome and escort patient from reception area to and from the treatment areas. Schedule appointments and assist in appointment confirmation calls.

  • Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient.

  • Recognize signs of a dental emergency, and insure proper and timely response and notification to patient, staff, and emergency medical personnel when necessary.

  • Expose dental diagnostic x-rays.

  • Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.

  • Pour, trim, and polish study casts, fabricate custom impression trays from preliminary impressions, clean and polish removable appliances and fabricate temporary restorations.

  • Assist in Hygiene Department as needed and within delegable duties and functions guidelines such as coronal polishing, placement of pit and fissure sealants.

  • Place bases, liners, and bonding agents.

  • Test pulp vitality and record findings.

  • Apply bleaching agents and activate with non-laser light curing device. Adjust dentures extraorally.

  • Chemically prepare teeth for bonding.

  • Additional responsibilities in accordance with the delegable duties allowable by state.

  • Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by Dentist.

  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist dentist during dental procedures.

  • Compliance with state and Federal OSHA laws, infection control, safety standards in the dental office and operatory, including but not limited to: wearing personal protective (PPE) barriers such as gloves, scrubs, and eye wear; disinfecting and sterilizing instruments and treatment areas; and disposing properly of contaminated or bio-hazardous waste/materials.

  • Learn and comply with Coast Dental's administrative procedures.

  • Insure review and completion of documentation, including but not limited to: accurate and current medical history, medical alerts, and signed consent forms.

  • Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit according to dentist's instructions and legal requirements.

  • Effectively provide dental education and information to insure patient awareness of dental health and continuing treatment.

  • Effectively present to patient the dental treatment plan and proposed plan for continuing treatments in professional and confidential manner.

  • Communicate with the patient all treatment to be rendered and financial obligation prior to starting procedure to avoid patient conflict. Understand and explain insurance benefits and financial options to patients in non-clinical terms.

  • Ensure treatment rooms are appropriately equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary.

  • Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble/need for a trouble ticket or general safety concerns.

  • Understand and agree to maintain production standards.

  • Effectively utilize and maintain a system of contact for patient follow-up/re-care.

  • Maintain professional working environment within office team.

  • Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings.

  • Adhere to OSHA compliant uniform attire and basic personal hygiene standards per Company policy.

  • Attend continuing education and training seminars as scheduled.

  • Understand and abide by HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality.

  • Follow policies listed in the employee manual to ensure consistent standards.

  • Maintain a constant line of communication with the Office Manager to establish monetary goals and insurance concerns.

  • Assist in the office cleaning, trash disposal and trouble ticket submission to correct any office maintenance issues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent customer services skills and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write, speak and understand information.

  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one with patients.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details written or verbally instructed.

  • Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software experience. EagleSoft experience is preferred.

  • Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment.


  • Previous dental assisting experience required.

  • 2 5 years dental assisting experience preferred.

  • Meet state of California requirements and obtain Registered Dental Assistant license in California.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate.

  • Current certification in radiography.

  • Meet continuing education requirements and maintain Registered Dental Assistant license in California.

JOB SUMMARY The Assistant General Manager II (AGM II) leads and manages the member service functions within medium/large size clubs to provide the best guest and member experience, and team member environment. The AGM II recruits, hires, trains and develops a diverse, high performance team and provides leadership and direction to ensure the team achieves goals in a way that reflects the company values. The AGM II assists the GM with club strategy, execution of Company initiatives, including responsibility for communicating and upholding company policies, standards and delivering on our commitment to a clean, friendly and well-maintained club. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES Member and Guest Experience Ensure that all club members are delivered a great member service experience. To achieve this objective the AGM II will: + Proactively engage club member base, regularly greet and interact with members and partner with General Manager (GM) to provide a best-in-class health club experience. + Resolve member concerns and complaints in a professional manner within 24 Hour Fitness corporate and club parameters. + Monitor club facilities for appearance and equipment issues, and resolve or escalate issues that detract from the member experience. + Assist GM in providing direction to third party janitorial service. + Verify that retail is optimally merchandised, displayed, and merchandise transfers are completed to company policy and procedure. + Instill a sense of common responsibility and teamwork across club functions. Staffing and Development Maintain a fully engaged and high performing team that aligns with company values and goals. To achieve this objective the AGM II will: + Recruit, interview and hire member service team and Kids' Club professionals that delivers on company goals and reflects its values. + Train and coach team members, including conducting weekly meetings to review performance, offer direction, motivation and guidance toward achieving individual and company goals. + Responsible for team member scheduling to meet member and guest needs. + Provide recommendations to GM regarding personnel actions including hiring, promotion, discipline and termination. + Implement, supervise and direct regular training to ensure all club employees are trained in Operations, Fitness or Sales SOPs, and other company policies. + Instill a sense of common responsibility and teamwork across club functions to maintain positive member and team member experience. Financial Performance Support all sales efforts within the club including new member sales, EFT, fitness packages and supplements. To achieve this objective the AGM II will: + Align with GM on monthly, weekly and daily financial goals. + Review key performance indicators and club statistics with the GM to identify potential revenue gaps and modify sales execution as necessary. + Execute and coordinate national sales promotions within the club. + Support club efforts in achieving revenue goals in NMS, EFT, Retail, Drink, Juice Bar and ancillary revenue. + Manage in-club daily productivity tools to maximize team efficiency. + Supervise POS operations and file daily and weekly club revenue reports Club Administration and General Ensures that the facility is well equipped and provides a clean and safe environment for both members and employees. To achieve this objective the AGM II will: + Implement new operational procedures in the club and follow-up with compliance checks by monitoring club systems and team member performance + Ensure that systems procedures are accurately followed: POS and cash handling, front desk set up, file organization, member check-in, telephone inquiry, guest processing, Master Appointment Book, HFC booking, etc. + Review manual agreements and prepare applicable paperwork to be forwarded to MSC + Responsible for proper inventory receiving and inventory control activities per company guidelines, including inventory counts and Mi9 + Manage time and labor system and labor spend + Make daily banking deposits + Order and maintain all supplies In addition to specific functional accountabilities, the AGM II is expected to act as 'cross functional' manager. The AGM II develops a broad skill set in order to understand the fundamental roles and duties of the Fitness Manager (FM) and able to resolve issues if the FM is absent.
