As a Dental Assistant, this individual will be a highly motivated, quality-conscious dental worker. Interested in working in an environment where teamwork and one-on-one time with patients measures success.

Schedule is: 6:40am - 5:10pm Monday through Thursday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all chairside dental procedures efficiently

  • Perform independent procedures as delegated and directed by the dentist in accordance with state regulation and law and department directive and protocol

  • Sterilization and preparation of dental operatory and instruments

  • Properly take diagnostic quality radiographs

  • Perform all necessary lab procedures

  • Responsible for stocking treatment areas

  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology

  • Demonstrate knowledge of dental instruments, treatment equipment and maintenance procedures

  • Efficiently direct patient flow through teamwork and communication

  • Maintains compliance with OSHA and department policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposure control, and safety issues

  • Receptionist duties as assigned

  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate

  • Completion of accredited course in dental assisting preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a chair side Dental Assistant preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • CPR or BLS certification within 60 days of hire

  • Certified Dental Assistant preferred

  • Registered Dental Assistant preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to deliver quality care to children and adults

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments and responsibilities to ensure compliance with established deadlines and protocols

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written)

  • Patient/staff rapport -- make positive contribution to office/organization

  • Knowledge of modern dental materials, their storage handling and applications preferred

  • Dentrix software knowledge preferred

  • Dexis imaging knowledge preferred

  • Oral surgery experience preferred

  • Bilingual preferred

The Dental Receptionist is part of the team dedicated to providing comprehensive, accessible care and innovative practices focusing on wellness and prevention. The Dental Receptionist provides support with daily activities of a dental office including greeting patients, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, patient registration, and patient referrals. This position answers the telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates a triage email for response by dental personnel. Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduler. Reviews patients treatment plans with them and collect copayments. The Dental Receptionist must be cognizant of the expectations and concerns of QuadMed's dental patients and be able to respond in an empathetic and professional manner. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Front desk reception * Greets patients, answers phones, takes concise telephone messages and schedules appointments * Provides patient with all necessary registration forms, and gives instructions on completion of forms. * Verify dental and medical insurance benefits * Processes, codes, and completes insurance claims forms * Uses communication skills with proper dental and medical terminology * Performs computer skills in patient billing, transcription, scheduling, insurance claims, accounts receivables, and data entry * Performs other position related duties as assigned * Maintains supplies and equipment * Maintains confidentiality of patient PHI and adheres to all HIPAA regulations Education: * Must have High School diploma or equivalent Experience: * Receptionist and/or healthcare industry experience preferred * Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 1 year experience Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: * BLS certificate Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Excellent customer service skills required * Ability to be a team player, detail oriented, accurate, and efficient * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a fast paced-environment and work well under pressure * Ability to be patient, possess compassion and uphold HIPAA standards * Dental Terminology preferred * Dentrix software knowledge is a plus but not a requirement * Clinical task as needed Additional Company Information: We offer excellent benefits to eligible employees, including 401(k), holidays, vacations and more.
