Our Mitchell Park Milwaukee clinic is looking for full-time Dental Assistants. We provide on the job training, so certification is not required to be hired as a DA at our Milwaukee, WI office.

Job Purpose

To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dentals culture and mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and escort patient in a professional and friendly manner from reception area to and from the treatment areas.

  • Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary.

  • Take and record patients medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure & pulse.

  • Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentists instructions and legal requirements.

  • Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.

  • Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations as allowed by state law.

  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist Dentist during dental procedures.

  • Effectively provide dental education and information to patients to ensure patient awareness of dental health, and oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).

  • Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns

  • Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings..

  • Understand and follow company policy and procedures

  • Understand and follow state and federal laws related to a dental office

  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Skill Sets

  • Excellent customer/patient service and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic computer knowledge

  • Experience with dental management software experience. Denticon experience is preferred.

  • Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment.

  • Organizational skills and Detail oriented

  • Interpersonal skills.

  • Previous dental assisting experience preferred but not required.

Availability:

Working Hours: M-F, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM and Sat, 8:30 AM - 4 PM
