Overview

We are hiring a Dental Assistant for our affiliate office; Dental Associates of Florida located in Bartow, FL. The ideal Dental Assistant will have Formal Training and X-ray certification in the state of Florida. The Dental Assistant for this position will have 3-4 years' experience working in a dental office to be considered. We need a Dental Assistant that has excellent patient care customer service skills as well as be a team player. We offer a competitive salary, plus benefits!

At Dental Associates of Florida, located in Bartow, FL. We have been working diligently to ensure all our patients and staff feel safe and protected while in our office. We now have Plexi-glass Barriers in the reception area and in selected clinical areas. We have all the proper PPE for the staff and are CDC COVID-19 compliant.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

Duties:

  • Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.

  • Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.

  • Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.

  • Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.

  • Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.

  • Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.

  • Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.

  • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining cpr certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

  • Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.

  • Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.

  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

  • Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • X-ray license for the state in which you work is preferred

  • Expanded Function license for the state in which you work is preferred

  • Experience working as a Dental Assistant

We do everything possible to give each patient a pleasant experience. We are currently hiring a Part-Time Dental Hygienist to work Mondays 8 am - 5pm with our affiliated DAF practice in Bartow, FL. We have been working diligently to ensure all our patients and staff feel safe and protected while in our office. Responsibilities Essential responsibilities include: * Through the delivery of periodontal therapies and other hygiene-related services, Dental Hygienists are committed to improving the oral health of patients. Candidates must be enthusiastic about their dental work, and willing to provide the highest level of care at all times * Under limited supervision, the Dental Hygienist provides oral hygiene dental treatment and oral hygiene care and education in accordance with guidelines approved, issued, and regulated by the state in which they work. * Patient screening, medical history and dental charting. * Application of fluoride and protective sealants. Removal of calculus, stain and plaque from above and below the gum line. * Provides nutritional counseling, and self-care programs to prevent disease. * Other duties as required Qualifications Desired Skills: * Hands on experience as a Hygienist * Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene school.
