We are currently hiring for an Advanced Dental Assistant in our Orthodontic Clinic
Function/Duties of Position
The Dental Assistant provides chair side assistance to Orthodontic faculty, predoctoral andpostdoctoral students, and patients in the Orthodontic clinic. This busy Orthodontic clinic focuses on providing excellence in patient care while training future leaders in the Orthodontic profession.
Job duties will include a variety of functions including:
Assisting with direct patient care
Fabricating orthodontic appliances, radiographs, impressions
Assistance with fitting, bonding and removal of orthodontic bands, brackets, separators, or orthodontic wires
Assist in appointment scheduling and electronic maintaining patient records
Required Qualifications
Completion of an approved Dental Assistant training program AND two years' experience as a chair side Dental Assistant in an Advanced Specialty OR Three years' experience as a chair side Dental Assistant in an Advanced Specialty.
Certification by the Oregon State Board of Dentistry for Radiological Proficiency required for all positions
Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) card required American Heart Association required for all positions.
Must have worked as a dental assistant in an advanced specialty within the last 5 years
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
Some experience within an Orthodontic clinic
