This position is responsible for the market development of assigned offices and reps, providing supportive feedback and ideas while meeting Dental & Vision Business Operations objectives. The role is designed to enhance sales and marketing success in the Dental/Vision market in partnership with the field office.
Additionally, when appropriate, this position is responsible for contributing to sales goals, through building relationships with other insurance professionals brokers, financial planners, agents, stockbrokers, consultants, enrollment firms and other Unum sales professionals. This position is the dental/vision marketing and technical expert who represents Unum, educating and motivating other professionals to sell our products to their clients with particular focus on assisting with selling the full portfolio of integrated products.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Partner with Home Office Operations and Sales & Client Management teams to develop local market programs to drive UNUM Dental and Vision product growth through broker and customer based programs in relation to local market dynamics.
Complete ongoing strategic analysis of offices and assigned territories to identify changes in associated markets, changing trends, and provide new programs with the appropriate support.
Assess local office capabilities and engage local teams as necessary to ensure consistent execution and results across all markets using a variety of business intelligence, external trends, and network analytics
Partner with regional Sales & Client Management leadership to communicate and train field and service constituents on new dental and vision market development programs as well as future market development strategies.
Deliver and support field force in product education for brokers and their associated agencies.
Distribute and coordinate eCommunication strategies.
Participate in meetings with sales and client management teams to accelerate growth, communicate results, maintain momentum and solicit input on initiatives and strategies.
Monitor sales goals at both the office and rep levels and to suggest appropriate actions that should be taken to drive results and increase market share.
Leverage business intelligence including industry segmentation, trend analysis, in-depth broker analysis, employer prospecting, and network analytics to drive growth in our Dental and Vision market share.
Represent UNUM's Dental and Vision products as a Subject Matter Expert and conduct training as appropriate.
Support our Broker Development Strategies and client management initiatives
Partner with our Underwriting team members to create and drive integrated sales strategies.
Support Sales Reps to develop under penetrated markets through new broker engagement and teamwork efforts with Core Market Sales Reps and Client Managers.
Achieve personal sales goals through consultation, negotiations and positioning of Unum offerings within profit and product design guidelines.
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent.
5 + years experience in a sales or service environment preferred.
Licensed to solicit insurance in the states within assigned offices/territory (use Field Comp Policy & Practice document for specific details on licensing requirements).
Strong relationship development skills and ability to foster a team environment.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze raw data; ability to produce detailed reports and analysis.
Strong ability to manage projects including tracking and implementation.
High level of organization, implementation/execution and project management skills.
